MacBook Battery Health Check

Enter your cycle count and maximum capacity to see how much battery life is left and whether service is worth considering.

Where do I find these numbers?
  1. Maximum capacity: open System Settings → Battery, then click the ⓘ next to Battery Health.
  2. Cycle count: hold Option, click the Apple menu → System Information, then open Power in the sidebar and look under Battery Information.

Enter one or both numbers to see a result.

Apple rates MacBooks made since 2009 for 1000 cycles; some older models are rated lower. This is a guide, not a diagnosis. Apple’s Battery Health screen shows the official status for your Mac.
